Melancholia Collection
there is a space where sadness and joy exist together.
look closer, and you'll see it everywhere:
the last walk on the beach before going home, the ache of a beautiful ending, the way a memory can make you smile and cry at the same time.
That's the space I paint.
The story
The Melancolia collection was born from my need to explore an emotion that has long been a quiet companion in my life:
a joyful sadness, akin to nostalgia : melancholia.
I realised this feeling had always subtly woven itself into my art, and I decided to embrace it fully. This series, which I will unfold in multiple parts, is a visual journey through that space.
