Studio lighting
Good lighting is key for an art studio, especially when there’s not enough natural light. These lights are set to 5000k to mimic natural daylight, which helps ensure my workspace is well-lit and my art looks its best when I film.
Oil Paint
I use a variety of materials in my painting process, so I’ve put together a list of my go-to supplies and absolute favorites.
Brushes :
- my favorites are from Rosemary & Co. I especially love the 1-inch Mundimop (and the 1.2-inch version) for soft blending, and the Ivory Dagger 1/8 for details like animal fur.
Oil paints :
I currently use Sennelier Rive Gauche because of its faster drying time. I also love the rich colors from Michael Harding, Gamblin, and Rembrandt each brand has some stunning shades that I keep coming back to.
I mix my paints on this glass palette with this to clean It.
Mediums :
- Liquin by Winsor & Newton for faster drying time
- Galkyd, and Galkyd Lite by Gamblin.
- Sometimes, I also use clarified linseed oil by LeFranc Bourgeois.
Solvant :
For surface preparation I use gesso, and sand it between layers.
Lastly, for varnishing, I use the Gamblin varnish brush along with their Matte, Gloss, and Satin varnishes to protect and finish my paintings.
