Hi, I'm Laurine Mirenka
I'm a self-taught artist based in the Landes region of France.
I create figurative paintings that blend realism with fantastical elements, where nature, animals, and mythical beings coexist.

From dream ...
As a child, I was convinced I'd become an artist more specifically, a game artist. But between adults doubting the future of an art career and a banker telling me, "video games aren't a real job" while refusing my loan for art school, I gave up on that dream.
From there, I wandered from one field of study to another, then from one job to the next, building a career that looked like success on the outside. But something was missing. Eventually, I reached a point where I could make my own choices. I sold my businesses and finally committed myself fully to art.
That decision felt like coming home to myself.
I may have missed the window for game art school, but art itself has no deadlines. Painting became my way of creating worlds, telling stories, and exploring emotions in a way that feels even more personal. And the best part? I get to share this journey with you.
... to reality
Right now, I'm exploring my artistic voice: learning, experimenting, and pushing myself beyond realism to create pieces that gradually shape a world of their own.
I share this process not just through my art but by documenting my experience as a full-time artist: the learning, the challenges, the breakthroughs. If you've ever wondered what it's like to start over and chase what truly makes you feel alive, welcome: I'm figuring it out as I go, too.
My Artistic Vision
In my work, i use fantastical imagery not as an escape from reality, but as a way to reflect on it. By constructing worlds that blur the line between the real and the surreal. I want to invite viewers to see familiar emotions and
experiences trom a new perspective.
Through this contrast, I explore themes of transformation, nostalgia, and all the deep and unfiltered emotions and experiences that shape us.
What Inspires Me
I'm fascinated by the way contrasts meet and blend: like the tension between melancholy and wonder, dreams and reality, presence and absence, where one flows into the other.
Nature and the creatures that inhabit it, plays a huge role in my work.
Outside of painting, my passions are video games, literature, and my studies in mythology, human psychology, and philosophy, they all feed into my creative process. These worlds come together to shape an aesthetic that is both personal and slightly otherworldly.
